Synopsis

When his Mum’s in the hospital and Dad says she’s ‘done something stupid’, there’s not much a seven-year-old can do. So, he starts to make a list of every brilliant thing worth living for:
1. Ice cream 2. Water fights 3. Staying up past your bedtime and being allowed to watch TV.
From there, the list continues to grow thoughout his life until it takes on a life of its own. Every Brilliant Thing is a story about the impact of depression while also reminding us of everything that makes life worth living.

Since it’s critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2014, Every Brilliant Thing has gone on to Broadway and has been performed from the Isle of Eigg to South Korea. It’s even been recorded as a film for HBO. Danny Brochu (last seen in 2018’s ‘Art’ at HVT) takes on the role of the Narrator in this one-man show.

Every Brilliant Thing will be presented outdoors at the Greenwood Centre for Living History located at 254 Main Rd, Hudson.

This summer marks the 25th Anniversary for Greenwood and Hudson Village Theatre is honoured to be a part of the celebration. Every Brilliant Thing will be presented on the lawn overlooking the beautiful view of Lake of Two Mountains.

Seating will be provided for the audience.
